One of my goals this year is to document our lives a little bit better. Keeping a journal has always been a challenge for me, and not something I grew up doing. Posting something positive on a Monday may help me look forward to the rest of the week.
THE WEATHER THIS WEEK...Sunny, cold and breezy. Current temperature in 36 degrees. I wish I didn't have to go anywhere today. We are expected to reach a whopping high of 44 degrees later this afternoon. Sunny for the rest of the week, except for Friday, with rain expected in the afternoon. Temperatures range from high 40s to mid-50s throughout the week.
AROUND THE HOME...The kitchen counter is a mess. I had been doing really well about making sure the dishes were in the dishwasher and the counter cleaned off each night before bed, but I dropped the ball last night. I blame the drop in temperature. Hopefully my family will understand. Bridget woke up wanting to play the piano. She is reading some notes for her right hand, and becomes frustrated easily. We had an impromptu lesson last night as my husband bathed the boys. She had spent the weekend teaching herself how to play "Joy to the World". Liam has Bridget's purse and has filled it with cheerios. He takes them out of the purse, puts them on the floor, then picks them up again to put in her purse. George woke up late (he does not yet do formal school with us so I let him sleep 'til whenever) and insisted on a peanut butter and agave sandwich for breakfast. He is not the biggest fan of yogurt, so I obliged.
AGENDA FOR TODAY...
Bridget has schoolwork to do; a new math lesson and copywork from a new story. I will read-aloud after Liam is put down for his nap after lunch. I need to finish laundry from Saturday (I am doing my very best not to do laundry or any other unnecessary chores on Sunday). The children did a number on the living room over the weekend, including our homeschool area, so I will need to get them to help me tidy up. Gymnastics this afternoon. I will need to prep the eggplant before we leave, as chaos ensues when we return home with statements of hunger and starvation from the children. Tonight's dinner is simple and all I need to do is to put the eggplant in the oven, boil pasta, and heat up a jar of marinara sauce.
A PEEK INTO MY DAY...
A FAVORITE QUOTE FOR TODAY...
“As you create a home, don't get distracted with a lot of things that have no meaning for you or your family. Don't dwell on your failures, but think of your successes. Have joy in your home. Have joy in your children. Have joy in your husband. Be grateful for the journey.”
